THEATRE FOR JUSTICE is a new company born out of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. The company is made up of actors, writers and directors from BOVTS.

THEATRE FOR JUSTICE is commited to creating exceptional works on the theme of social justice. Our vision is to establish a network of theatrical pioneers who are passionate about giving a voice to those who are silenced.

STILL HERE is the company's first full-scale production and is currently being developed for Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016.

CREATIVE TEAM

RACHEL PARTINGTON

Rachel is in her second year at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Previous credits include: Big Book For Girls (G.S.A.), Post Valentine Blues Loves The Muse (Royal Court Theatre Studio),The Glass Menagerie (Talisman Theatre), Superhero Academy (Selah Theatre Company), Love and Madness (YMT:UK. Barbican Theatre.) TV: The Cunning Folk (Sky Community Channel). Writing credits include: Slaves of the Kingdom (Ed Fringe 2013), Her Last Fall (BOVTS Write Night 2015.) Rachel is a member of Take Thou That Theatre Company. She enjoys cooking, running, song-writing and photography.

ANNA KURTZ

Anna is an MA Acting student at BOVTS. Her previous directing credits include Mulan the musical, Shipwrecked: The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont, and The Importance of Being Earnest. She has assistant directed at the Charles Court Opera Company in London and at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival (USA and UK.) In her free time Anna enjoys hiking, playing the guitar, and reading great books. 

ACTORS

AFOLABI ALI worked in the world of business for a number of years before making the decision to come and train at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He was previously a member of the National Youth Theatre.

LEAH SUMMERS is originally from London and precious to starting her training in Bristol she studied at The BRIT School for two years. She was a member of many youth theatre companies such as Z7eaven, Y&T Rep Company, Arcolla Youth Theatre and the Almeida Youth Theatre.

EMILY FERRIER moved from Canada to study her MA in Acting at BOVTS. Emily has a strong background in professional dance and physical theatre. She is an experienced yoga teacher and fitness instructor.

GEORGIA FROST is currently in her second year of training at BOVTS. She is originally from Warrington, where she was part of The Actors Lab. Her previous credits include: Purple Summer (The Lymm Octagon) Footloose, We Will Rock You (The Brindley Theatre) Immaculate (Lysander Studios) A Midsummer Nights Dream (Conwy) My Method Man (3MT). TV: The story of Fred and Rose West. Georgia also works as an events singer. She is a member of Take Thou That Theatre CompanyGeorgia also writes and directs.

JAMES BRADWELL has acted in collaboration with Salisbury Scriptwriters and Studio Theatre. His professional credits include The Big 'A' T.I.E. with Facing Tides; 'Scratch Night' and 'Casino Theatre' at Salisbury Playhouse (Salisbury Scriptwriters); and The Salisbury Fringe 2014. James is currently in his first year of training at BOVTS.

TAHEEN MODAK is a first year Acting student at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Previous to training at BOVTS, Taheen studied for a year with the RADA Youth Company.

TECHNICAL/STAGE MANAGEMENT

ISOBEL EAGLE-WILSHER is currently a second year Stage Management/Technical student at BOVTS. She was Deputy Stage Manager for the school’s Nativity tour this year and during the summer was SM on a one woman comedy show. Prior to studying she worked as Assistant Stage Manager on the pantomime at the Cambridge Arts Theatre and various local company productions.

CATRIN VINCENT

Catrin is our resident composer for STILL HERE and currently studies Music at Goldsmiths in London. Experience: Winner of EMI Roundhouse recording competition, 2013. Performer on studio Gwyneth, S4C Wales, 2014. Supporting act for the Master Guitar Tour 2014, O2 Islington. Songwriter for West End stars Cleo Demetriou, Isabelle Methven and Adrianna Bertola in collaboration with the Spirit Young Performer’s Company, 2012-2015. Composer for 'The Cunning Folk' (Sky) which won best sound and production awarded by ITV Executive Producer James Garrett.  Supporting European star Julia Marcell with ‘Nocturne’ 2015. Isle of Wight Festival with ‘Nocturne’, 2015. Headlined the Servant Jazz Quarters with ‘Nocturne’, Headlined Ronnie Scott’s in October 2015.
